City to move ahead with condemnation of downtown properties
The Fayetteville City Council authorized staff Monday to move forward with condemnation of four downtown properties for parking.It was not an easy decision.To reach the decision, the council needed two votes and had much debate about the issue.The first motion to not move ahead with condemnation of four parcels at the intersection of Winslow and Russell streets was made by Councilman Jim Arp.It failed, the result of a 5-5 deadlock.
