Fayetteville native recalls recovery of Apollo 11 astronauts
Many Americans who were alive when Apollo 11 landed on the moon in July 1969 know exactly where they were when Neil Armstrong took the “giant leap for mankind” onto the lunar surface. Fayetteville native Tommy Myers has a vivid memory of the astronauts after they returned to earth.Myers, 72, lives in the Bonnie Doone area.
