Local colleges will be receiving federal grant money to help low-income students who live in counties impacted by Hurricane Florence.U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced Tuesday that nearly $2 million in supplemental funding has been awarded for financially needy students in North Carolina impacted by the hurricane.
