Fayetteville City Council voted 7-2  in favor of having the city attorney put out a request for information to bid for legal services regarding a civil action against prescription opioid manufacturers and wholesale distributors.Mayor Mitch Colvin placed the opioid lawsuit on the Monday night work session agenda because he opposed City Attorney Karen McDonald’s awarding of the legal contract to two lawyers without going through the city’s bidding process.
