1. N.C. Department of Transportation open house: The state Department of Transportation plans to widen about 5 miles of the All American Freeway. The public will have the opportunity to look at the preliminary design maps and offer comments during an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Village Baptist Church, 906 S. McPherson Church Road.
