Scholarship available to senior with military ties
The North Carolina Federation of Republican Women is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a high school senior with military ties, Pat C. Smith, president of the 2,000 member organization, announced last week.The scholarship will be awarded to a North Carolina student who is either a dependent of a North Carolina service member wounded or killed while serving in a combat zone since Sept. 11, 2001, or a student whose military sponsor was a North Carolina resident at the time of service.
