Man's new ride burns
No one was hurt when a car was destroyed in a fire on Southern Avenue near Whitfield Street late Monday morning.Owner Rafael Vargus of Fayetteville said he bought the car, an older model Honda, two days before. He was on his way to get its paperwork in order with the Division of Motor Vehicles, he said, when he smelled gasoline and pulled over to see what was wrong.The Fayetteville Fire Department quickly got the fire under control.Paul Woolverton
