Fayetteville small-business owners say state needs to let them reopen
As a waitress at Lindy’s Restaurant for 15 years, Brittany Burkhart said something has been gnawing at her since Gov. Roy Cooper last month ordered the inside of restaurants and bars to close to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.At the same tine, Cooper allowed big-box retail stores to stay open, which isn’t fair, she said.Burkhart said she also has a landscaping business, and every day goes into Lowe’s Home Improvement store to buy items.
