Trump administration demanded Democrats strip Ukraine aid language from spending package
In final negotiations on a mammoth spending package to avert a government shutdown, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin demanded that Democrats remove language that would have required the White House to move quickly to release Ukraine defense money. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi acceded to the demand.
