Officials accuse North Carolina woman of false cancer claims
RALEIGH, N.C. — State officials have accused a North Carolina woman of filing nearly 300 insurance claims for cancer although she didn’t have the disease. The N.C. Department of Insurance said in a news release Tuesday 60-year-old Susan Leigh Huebotter is charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretenses over $100,000.According to the department, Huebotter presented 287 cancer and hospitalization policy claims that weren’t true.
