Police: Deputy shot at Cape Fear Valley, suspect in custody
The Fayetteville Police Department says a deputy was shot this morning in the Emergency Room at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The shooter has been taken into custody, and the hospital has been ‘‘rendered safe’,’ police Chief Gina Hawkins said.The sheriff’s deputy was transporting a jail inmate in the ER and a scuffle ensued, Hawkins said.
