Harris condemns shooting of Sonya Massey, an unarmed Black woman
Vice President Harris, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, said Massey “deserved to be safe,” and that the police officers who responded to her call had failed her. Massey was shot by former Sangamon County sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson as he responded to her 911 call.
