An excessive heat warning remains in effect for portions of the Cape Fear region, including Fayetteville and Fort Bragg, through Tuesday evening.Temperatures in the upper 90s and dew points in the mid to upper 70s will combine to create potentially dangerous heat in the mid and late afternoon across the region.
