Doctors were not able to save the arm of a Fayetteville woman who was attacked last week with a machete.Melissa Norris, 54, had her arm amputated Tuesday in a 14-hour surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, according to her sister, Patty Roy.Ryan Alexander Tyndall, who police say was Norris’ boyfriend, was charged with attempted first-degree murder in the Feb. 11 machete attack.
