Council will discuss mayor's proposal to raise salaries of hundreds of employees
Mayor Mitch Colvin on Monday plans to bring before the City Council his proposal to raise the hourly pay for hundreds of city employees.Colvin’s plan, which will be discussed by the City Council at its 5 p.m. work session in the Layfayette Room of City Hall, would direct the city staff to develop a plan to bring minimum pay to $16 per hour within a two-year time frame.Colvin estimates that between 800 and 900 city employees would get raises.
