Downtown charter school wants to buy property
The Capitol Encore Academy charter school is asking for permission to borrow up to $7.75 million to buy the building it is leasing on Hay Street from local businessmen.The bond funds also would help the charter school that started in 2013 to pay for continued renovations to the school at 126 Hay Street.A public hearing on the borrowing plan was held Monday night in the City Council chambers at City Hall.
