Live Wire: 911 operators multitask to handle dispatching quickly
Q: When you call the 911 number, they ask you a lot of questions. While you’re answering those questions, are they already notifying the emergency staff responsible for responding? I guess my question is, how fast do they know if you’re legitimate? I recently called and the very nice lady on the line kept telling me that she had to ask all those questions.
