Live Wire: Auto emissions inspections no longer required in some counties
Q: I was hearing about changes to the Cumberland County emissions inspection laws beginning in 2019 which would basically do away with the emissions testing. Therefore, Cumberland County would only be doing safety inspections for vehicles just like Harnett and Hoke county. But I know shops are still failing vehicles for emissions and check engine lights at the moment.
