Cumberland County schools to close on May 1
Cumberland County Schools officials have decided to close schools for students on May 1 after more than 400 teachers requested substitutes for the day that a march and rally are planned in Raleigh.A statement released by the school system said the decision was made after school officials carefully had monitored the number of teachers and staff who had requested leave to attend the education rally in Raleigh on May 1.
