RALEIGH — Melissa Anne Godshall and Robert J. Kennerley were panhandling on the side of the road in Granville County when investigators say a stranger pulled up and made an interesting offer.Levan Lomtatidze, 44, from the European country of Georgia, promised Godshall $12,000, a car and rent payments for a house in Raleigh if she agreed to marry him so he could remain in the United States legally.Godshall, 31, said yes, according to federal court records.
