North Carolina Scoutmaster who molested boys dies in prison
Gastonia — A former Scoutmaster from Gaston County convicted of molesting Boy Scouts in his troop in the early 1980s has died in prison. “It’s not R.I.P., it’s B.I.H. (burn in hell),” wrote the mother of one of Herbert Melton Jacobs’ victims in an email to The Gaston Gazette. Jacobs died Feb. 4 two weeks before his 72nd birthday at Greene Correctional Institution, a minimum security prison in Maury that also has a medical facility. […]
