Live Wire: Does the NY abortion law counter federal law?
Q: New York state supposedly just passed an abortion law that allows abortion even after the woman is in labor and about to give birth. They also say that if a baby is born alive after a botched abortion, the doctor or provider can let it die. I thought a federal law was passed several years ago that said a baby born alive should be given medical assistance to keep it alive.
