GenX found near former discharge area at Chemours plant
Tests along a drainage channel that was once used to discharge waste from a Bladen County chemical plant showed elevated levels of GenX, according to a consent order approved by a judge Monday.Five tests in the area known as Old Outfall 2 at the Chemours facility had levels of GenX at least 50 times higher than the state’s provisional health goal for the compound.
