Cumberland County Board of Education wants to start school year earlier
The Cumberland County Board of Education will ask state lawmakers to let the school system start the school year earlier to make it easier for high school students to finish the fall semester and take exams before the Christmas holiday.The school board voted unanimously to seek a local bill that will allow the school system to start 10 days before the Monday closest to Aug. 26.
