Cheri Beasley, formerly of Fayetteville, to be chief justice of NC Supreme Court
Associate Justice Cheri Beasley of the N.C. Supreme Court, who used to be a judge and an assistant public defender in Cumberland County, will be the high court’s new chief justice as of March 1.Gov. Roy Cooper announced the appointment Tuesday.
