Charles and Shirley Levorse: Love at first dance
In October 1955, I went to a square dance in Chester, South Carolina. There I saw Shirley and danced with her all night. At closing time I told her that I was going to marry her. “The hell you are,” she said. But a year later, Oct. 13, 1956, we got married. We were married 60 years 1 month and 19 days before she left and went to be with the Lord.
