Smithfield Foods opens new distribution center in Tar Heel
TAR HEEL — Smithfield Foods Inc. on Friday announced the opening of a new distribution center in Tar Heel that will create approximately 250 jobs in the state.Smithfield invested more than $100 million into the more than 500,000-square-foot facility and its blast cell cold storage capabilities at its processing facility, the company said in a news release.
