Pembroke man surrenders after police standoff
LUMBERTON — A Pembroke man barricaded himself in a residence Wednesday morning after firing shots at law enforcement officers who were attempting to arrest him on weapons charges and a parole violation, authorities said in a release.After 90 minutes, Robeson County Sheriff Burnis Wilkins negotiated with Martin Elliot Brooks, 37, who eventually surrendered, the release said.
