Committee approves school resource officer contract
The Cumberland County school board’s Auxiliary Services Committee approved a contract for school resource officers on Tuesday.The full Board of Education is expected to approve the contract, which is an extension of a previous agreement, at its meeting next week.The contract between the school board and Sheriff Ennis Wright calls for deputies to serve as school resource officers at 13 high schools and 17 middle schools.
