Beth Israel events celebrate Hanukkah holiday
Beth Israel Congregation will mark the beginning of Hanukkah on Sunday with the lighting of the menorah scheduled at 6 p.m.Hanukkah, the Jewish holiday which lasts eight nights and days, is also known as the Festival of Lights. The end of the holiday, on Dec. 9, will be observed with a latke, or potato cake, breakfast in the Beth Israel Social Hall beginning at 10:30 a.m.Beth Israel is at 2204 Morganton Road.Nancy McCleary
