Gastonia — Police say a Gastonia man who had just gotten out of prison for stealing a car shot two people and killed a man during a Thanksgiving Day car theft. Jeremy Austin Smith, 19,was released from prison in January after serving a year on multiple motor vehicle larceny charges.
