1. Bentonville Christmas Open House: See how Christmas was celebrated in eastern North Carolina during the Civil War during a Christmas Open House at the Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site. The holiday program is scheduled for Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be reenactors and visitors can wander through a small military camp.
