Kirk deViere officially wins state Senate seat
Democrat Kirk deViere officially became the winner of the state Senate District 19 race Monday, when Republican state Sen. Wesley Meredith did not request a recount.DeViere led by 306 votes when preliminary results were announced on election night, but his lead grew to 433 votes when the vote count was completed and canvassed by the Cumberland County Board of Elections on Friday.
