HOPE MILLS — On Sept, 28, 1918, the U.S. Army 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Division, swarmed the open fields near Bellicourt in France. Their mission was to break the Hindenburg Line, the last zone of German defenses on the Western Front.Among that group of soldiers were dozens from Cumberland County.North Carolina Corp. John D.
