DeViere-Meredith race for N.C. Senate remains in recount zone
With the vote count completed and canvassed by the Cumberland County Board of Elections on Friday in the 2018 election, Democrat Kirk deViere’s lead over Republican state Sen. Wesley Meredith in the state Senate 19 race widened but remained close enough for Meredith to obtain a recount if he desires.DeViere now leads by 433 votes out of 59,197 ballots counted.
