Clarkton man guilty in 2017 fatal shooting
ELIZABETHTOWN — A Clarkton man will spend between 26½ and 33 years in prison after he was found guilty Tuesday in Bladen County Superior Court of second-degree murder.Harold Eugene Swindell, 48, of the 200 block of Page Road, was accused in the May 2017 death of Lonnie Level Smith, 38, of the 200 block of Jasmine Lane in Clarkton.The shooting happened in the Oakdale Apartments in Clarkton, according to a release from the Bladen County District Attorney’s Office.
