Utilities ready to respond in wake of Florence
Utilities in Fayetteville and other parts of the Cape Fear region say they are as prepared as they can be to respond to power outages caused by Hurricane Florence.The Fayetteville Public Works Commission will have its crews on standby starting at 10 p.m. Thursday.PWC also has contractors on standby who will be ready to help, said Carolyn Justice-Hinson, a spokeswoman for the utility.
