1. Blood Donor Center: The Cape Fear Valley Blood Donor Center will open Saturday due to an extremely short blood supply caused by Hurricane Florence. Blood donations of all types are urgently needed. The center, at 3357 Village Drive, will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The center also will be open today and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The current blood supply shortage was caused by area school cancellations due to Florence.
