1. LaFayette Birthday Celebration: The birthday of Revolutionary War hero Marquis de LaFayette will be celebrated Sept. 7-8. Festivities begin Sept. 7 at 5:30 p.m. with “Arias and Artifacts” in Davis Memorial Library at Methodist University. The university’s collection of LaFayette artifacts will be on display.
