Plane lands upside down in Harnett County cotton field
LILLINGTON — A pilot making an emergency landing in Harnett County on Thursday escaped injury after the airplane came to rest upside down, the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said.The single-seat, single-engine, fixed-wing plane landed in a cotton field about a quarter-mile east of U.S. 421, near Crawford Road, between Erwin and Coats.The N.C. Highway Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.Nancy McCleary
