Pedestrian killed in Fayetteville police crash
An officer with the Fayetteville Police Department was involved in a fatal pedestrian crash at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Raeford Road and Sandalwood Drive.The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian was attempting to cross Raeford Road and stepped into the path of a Fayetteville police officer’s vehicle, which was traveling west on Raeford Road, according to a news release.The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
