Fire destroys vacant house on Chatham Street
Fire destroyed an older, vacant house late Thursday between Moore and Rowan streets, the Fayetteville Fire/Emergency Management Department said.The fire at 428 Chatham St. was reported at 10:16 p.m., a Fire Department news release said.The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, which forced them to attack the fire from outside initially.
