Couple accused of destroying evidence after Hoke County traffic stop
RAEFORD — A Vass couple tried to avoid arrest and get rid of evidence after their vehicle was stopped Monday on N.C. 20 about five miles south of Raeford, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said.Deputies on traffic patrol along N.C. 20, near Hall Road, stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, a Sheriff’s Office news release said.A search of the driver, Billy Joe Garner, 40, of Mallard Cove, turned up $455, heroin and methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
