Schools want more money; commissioners propose less
Cumberland County commissioners are proposing a $900,000 decrease in funding for Cumberland County Schools.Commissioners say the proposed funding is $3.42 million more than the school system would have received this year if the system would not have been “held harmless” to a decline in property values after last year’s revaluation.Carrie Sutton, chairwoman of the school board, said she was hoping that the funding would at least stay at its current level.
