Cumberland County speller just misses finals
For the second straight year, Kendal Win made it to the third round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, just narrowly missing qualifying for the final round.Kendal, a Pine Forest Middle School eighth-grader, spelled words correctly in the second round Tuesday and in Round 3 on Wednesday, but didn’t score high enough on the written portion of the competition to qualify for today’s finals.
