Looking Back: Deadly tornadoes of March 1984
On March 28, 1984, powerful tornadoes tore through North Carolina. Fifteen people were killed in the Cape Fear region, and 44 were killed statewide. An estimated 1,500 were left homeless in the Cape Fear region.
